The living story
Born of Audax's moonlit vigil over the morning dew and Poi's centuries of taro-fed love, Dewpaw took up the watch where both parents left off — a spider-hound who guards what is precious and fragile.
At dawn Dewpaw strings a silk lattice between the tide-pools, beads it with dew, and settles into the eight-eyed watch — still as stone until the sun lifts the mist.
Keepers say the morning Dewpaw stops watching is the morning something precious goes missing. That morning has never come.
