The living story
The wall roared. Thunder ran at it. It broke. Thanatos arrived, unhurried, sat beside the rubble, and said everyone was early. When their daughter hatched, the first thunderhead of her life gathered above the nest — and she laughed at it, and it folded itself into rain. Her father wrote it down carefully, the way he keeps everything: forever.
Lullstorm flies the storm-lanes between The Extinct and The Odyssey, learning her father's trade of patience and her mother's trade of courage. This season she is practicing the Dying Fall on small storms first, so the big ones don't notice they're being calmed.
Keepers say that when she masters the full Dying Fall, the longest night will hold the year's largest storm still — and sing it, note by note, into the gentlest rain the multiverse has ever known.
