The story so far
Aiolornis incredibilis — 'incredible wind-bird' — soared North America with a sixteen-foot wingspan, the continent's largest flying bird of the Ice Age. Aeolus remembers storms the way others remember childhood: the Pleistocene skies were weather with opinions. In the Undertow he is the Empty Sky's weatherman — he reads the ceiling-currents, predicts the slow turnings of the dark water, and is right often enough that the faction plans gatherings around his forecasts. He is always watching the ceiling. He says he's watching weather. He's watching the sky he lost.
