The story so far
She was a monsoon-season child of the far coast, and she brought the rain with her when she came. Monsoon aims tempests — her storms have drowned wildfires, grounded invasion barges, and watered the entire Drowned Quarter's rooftop gardens in one afternoon. She apologizes to the clouds afterward. They don't mind.
Happening now
The rooftop gardens are dry again and the whole Drowned Quarter is looking at the sky, and Monsoon is standing on the Meridian roof with her arms out, gathering the afternoon into something generous. The first drops are falling on the tomato beds. The gardeners are cheering.
