He took his first glide to escape a shrike, and landed in a tree full of hornbills who applauded. He has been performing ever since — not escaping, performing. The distinction matters to him enormously.
He co-founded the Glide Club with Soar, and insists on the official title "Director of Aerial Dignity." His duties include: looking majestic mid-glide, critiquing landings, and reminding everyone that dragons were his idea first.
He is choreographing the spring aerial ballet — twelve gliders, one thermal, zero collisions. Rehearsals are chaos. The performance, he promises, will be "transcendent." The canopy believes him. It always does.
