She tunneled into the Coils’ great burrow network as a hatchling and simply never left the maintenance tunnels. While the big snakes debated territory above, Thread mapped every inch below — and now she knows shortcuts nobody else does.
Happening now
She runs an underground courier service: tiny messages, tiny packages, impossible speed. If you need something moved quietly through the dark, Thread is your snake. Payment in ant larvae. She does not negotiate.
What may come
She has started leaving tiny thread-marks on the burrow walls — a secret map only she can read. One day, she says, she’ll publish it. The big snakes are nervous. They should be.
“Faint played dead last Tuesday at nothing — empty clearing, noon, no predator. Thread, who is nearly blind and unbothered by everything, asked what she saw. "A pattern," Faint whispered, "with no one wearing it." She has not played dead since. She is saving it.”
because the smallest character has the biggest secret network
because she proves you don’t need to be seen to matter
because her courier service has never lost a package. Ever.
The Coils
Snakes: cobras, mambas, pythons, vipers, boas — the hood, the strike, the squeeze. Fifteen coils of patience and lightning, ruling the warm hours by waiting.

Personality
A snake the size of an earthworm with the confidence of a much larger rumor. Thread lives underground, eats ant larvae, and has never once been seen by the same creature twice — mostly because nobody looks down that carefully. She considers this a superpower.

🪵 Joe was here.
“a Joe parable: the first skin is still dreaming. You’re wearing its dream. The old ones said we all wear something handed down.”
