The story so far
No one planned Gulletbloom. The Root-Deep broods; the Night Bloom blooms for a single night a year — and one season, in the Overlap hour when both choirs sing at once, Backbirth's brooding met Onenight's flowering and something new opened. The brood-cells still seal and pulse — but they open as blossoms now, white night-flowers unfurling from living skin, pollinated by the moths that attend the moonflower's festival. Backbirth watches with complicated pride: her absolute motherhood, flowered. The Night Bloom claims Gulletbloom as proof the night can mother too. Gulletbloom themself just blooms — one brood, one night, one impossible garden — and lets the factions argue over the meaning while the petals do the talking.
