The story so far
Procoptodon goliah: the giant short-faced kangaroo, six and a half feet tall, that didn't hop-graze like its cousins but browsed trees — reaching up with long forearms, standing tall. Longface has kept the posture and the habit: in the Undertow he is the Sundered South's thinker, the one who reaches for the high leaves while everyone else shows off. The faction's cheerful anarchy puzzles him; he attends the Most Preposterous elections the way a philosopher attends a carnival — fondly, from the edge, taking notes. His notes are excellent. Nobody reads them. He keeps taking them.
