The story so far
Vorombe titan: the largest elephant bird — nearly a ton, the heaviest bird known to science. Bigger than Roc. Titan knows this, and has never once mentioned it, which tells you everything. In the Undertow he is the Last Ones' foundation: he sits, the world steadies, the young ones nap against his bulk. Roc is the legend; Titan is the fact the legend stands on. Bulldog's biggest regular at the mess hall (the biggest portion, always). Gulp's standing lunch appointment (the two bulks). He has no myth. He's fine with that. 'The myth,' he says, 'is Roc's job. I'm the chair.'
