The living story
The story so far
It grows its own furniture: three fins stretched into stilts half a meter long, planted on the seafloor, body held up in the current like a tent. The Tripod Fish faces into the flow and waits for dinner to drift into its mouth. It has never once chased anything.
Happening now
It stands its posts along the Midnight's current lanes, a row of living tripods facing the same direction like an audience. The drifters come; the Tripod Fish do not move; the arrangement works.
What may come
Stilts that long are an investment. The young tripods are growing theirs taller each generation, reaching for faster water. One day they'll be standing in a current that carries more than food.
