She taught the hooding posture to every king the Coils has ever had — "I am not angry, I am merely correct" — and she invented it, three centuries ago, facing down a honey badger. The badger left. The posture stayed. It has never failed since.
Her Second Shed came mid-pronouncement: she was settling a dispute between two mambas, rose to her full height, and simply... shimmered. When the light cleared, her hood was frosted white. The mambas settled their own dispute. "Even we," one said, "know when we’re done."
She holds the Dawn Pronouncements — one sentence per sunrise, delivered from the Sunning Stone, on whatever the day requires. Yesterday’s: "Be correct." The Coils’ compliance rate is excellent. The sentences are getting shorter. The meaning is getting larger.
