What SonnRays is
SonnRays is a collectible character universe built around original Sparks — illustrated characters designed to live as profile images, digital collectibles, stories and interactive avatars. The original SonnRays universe holds 72 Sparks across 10 realms, from the Ember Isles to Starfall Drift — and the wider multiverse spans hundreds more characters across INSTAR, Planetary, The Odyssey, Oceanana and Atlantis.
Every Spark ships with a finished portrait, a backstory, a personality, whispers, keeper DNA and connections across the universe. They were designed from the first sketch to be someone — not just something you look at, but someone you’d want beside you, on your device, in your day.
The AI-avatar moment
In September 2026, Meta introduced Muse Realtime Avatar — embodiment technology that turns conversational AI into expressive, interactive avatars. Meta’s research team describes it this way: conditioned on reference media, it “brings any character into a live conversation” — a photographic portrait responds through subtle expressions, while “a full-body illustration gestures and shifts posture as it speaks,” and “the avatar’s appearance and mannerisms remain coherent from one conversational turn to the next.”
That is precisely what a SonnRays Spark portrait is: a full-body character illustration with a defined appearance, personality and mannerisms — reference media purpose-built for the age of interactive avatars. No. SonnRays is an independent character universe. We’re excited about the same emerging AI-avatar space that Meta’s Muse and Muse Realtime Avatar are exploring, and we build our characters to be ready for it — but SonnRays is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Meta.
Can I use a SonnRays Spark as my AI avatar?
Today, every Spark works beautifully as a profile image and digital collectible. The Avatar Lab experiments are our concept explorations of the interactive future — how each Spark would move, sound and speak as a living avatar.
